A Night at the races is an evening of indoor horse racing, which can be run at most hotel destinations. It provides a great way to get people mingling and socialising after dinner and always provides plenty of entertainment.
After an informal introduction, the Night at the races event begins with individuals or teams being allocated betting cash, and race programmes are distributed. The currency is the much in demand ‘Lake District Events funny money,’ which can be traded in for prizes at the end of the evening. Delegates are able to view the horses on the giant screen and read about their form before placing bets with the totes at the tote booths.
Then the race begins! After each race the totes pay out to the winners. Once the winners have finished celebrating the viewing begins for the next race.
The evening culminates with a count up of the winner’s cash and a presentation of prizes.
